Longevity — For utah and its Riders
For over 20 years, Bike Utah has strived to create a place where complete networks of bike lanes, paths, and trails contribute to livable, healthy communities, allowing everyone to ride regardless of age, ability, race, or income.
Our mission at 100 Year Athlete is to create a community of mountain athletes who adventure and play into their 100s.
It felt like a natural partnership. Bike Utah advocates for the future of cycling in our state, and we support the longevity of the athletes who ride in Utah (and beyond).

Train anywhere, Anytime

how we train riders for a lifetime of adventure
Athleticism is Longevity. If you want to ride for decades to come, you need to develop athleticism. That is what 100YA programs are designed to do.
Start with Joint Health
If your spine, hips, or knees fail, you won’t be “sending” anything. 100YA develops the mobility you need to ride long distances without pain.
Build Trunk Strength
To pedal uphill without back pain, you need strength in all the muscles around your spine. Lifting light weights for 20 reps won’t make you any stronger. You have to lift heavy, and no, you won’t become a slug on climbs.
Develop Speed & Power
Cycling is dynamic. To absorb drops, chunk, and flat landings on an MTB, your body has to move explosively. To sprint on a road or gravel bike—and react to obstacles or other riders—same deal. When was the last time you trained for that?
Grip It to Rip It
Second to skill, grip endurance is the best predictor of downhill performance in mountain biking. Our MTB program includes grip-specific training to minimize arm pump and keep you locked on those bars.

When you retire, would you rather…
A: PLay Bingo and look at mountains
B: ride singletrack in the mountains
FAQs
How does online training work?
We deliver our programs through a mobile app, available on iOS and Android devices. The app delivers everything you need to complete your workouts: exercises with video and written instructions, directions on reps, sets, and rest times with built-in timers, a monthly training schedule, and much more.
What equipment will I need?
We recommend doing your workouts in a commercial gym with dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, power racks, etc. We also have a 100YA program designed for home workouts with minimal equipment. If that’s a better fit for you, message your coach. We can get that rolling.
What if I have questions about my program?
Message your coach right in the app (tap the face in the bottom right). You can even send along a photo or video to get feedback or your technique. We respond to messages within 24 hours.
I can’t do one of the exercises in my program. What should I do instead?
Message your coach! They can recommend a safe substitute.
I want a more personalized program and opportunities to chat live with a coach regularly.
You sound like a great fit for 100 Year Athlete Elite, our premium offering. We fully customize your program and include monthly check-ins (call or video chat) with your coach. Sign up for 100YA Elite here.

TestimonialS
I'm over 50 years old and still active with multiple mountain sports that include alpine skiing and touring, mountain bike racing, and Nordic skiing, just to name a few. Working with 100 Year Athlete has given me a new perspective on what my potential is. I honestly wish I had been doing strength work and, more importantly, work on my functional range (Kinstretch), years ago.
